Variability of Puccinia triticina populations on virulence and DNA-polymorphism in different agro-climatic zones of North Caucasus

A diversity of North Caucasian Puccinia triticina population of five agro-climatic zones in 2009-2010 was estimated. A pair comparison of the fungus isolates in five agro-climatic zones was conducted and it was identified that the groups of isolates regarding virulence genes from each zone have not shown significant diversity; the average level of diversity by RAPD-fragments was identified in all cases, but the high diversity level was revealed regarding virulence and molecular phenotypes within each population and between populations. Cluster analysis was carried out for two last characteristics, which revealed that the isolates from the eastern steppe and northern zones differ from the others.
