Influence of silicon preparations on resistance of barley to a drought

In vegetative experiment positive influence of the substances containing silicon, – a diatomite and monosilicic acid – on resistance of barley to a drought, is shown. It is established that at decrease of norms of watering the content of general silicon decreases against increase in concentration of soluble forms of silicon in symplast and apoplast of barley leaves. Dependence presence between a biomass of barley and the content of polymers of silicon acid in the symplast of leaves and in soil in the conditions of deficiency of a moisture is shown. The hypothesis about a role of the polysilicon matrixes, capable to reserve and keep water in intracellular and intercellular space of plant tissues is offered.
