Influence of the level of concentrates in the diet on metabolism in growing steers of beef breeds on various types of feeding

Studied hay and silage types of feeding for young Kalmyk breed with the proportion of concentrates in the diet was 36% and 47%. The group of bulls with a high content of concentrated feed in the diet, daily gains in bulls were higher by 8.5% when sinne and 10.9% in silage feeding. We found an increase in productivity is due to the acceleration of metabolic processes: the absorption of nitrogen increased by 7.9 and 12.1 %. As shown by our study in beef cattle the traditional types of feeding ensures rapid growth of live weight when the proportion of concentrated feed in the ration of not less than 47%.
