The impact of grazing various breeds of sheep in steppe grassland of the Republic of Kalmykia
Conducted investigations showed that animals of different species are characterized by the specific behavior and impact on pastures. We found that the conservation of pastures 1.4 times higher when grazing coarse-wooled sheep and not fine-wooled sheep. Therefore, we suggest when choosing sheep breeds for cultivation in the arid zone to take into account the adaptability of the genotype to environmental conditions and the nature of its impact on the environment.
