Justification of Design Parameters of a Hydraulic Pressing Soil-Breaking Disc Device for Wheeled Semi-Tractors

At present, energy-packed wheeled semi-tractors of Class 5.0 and above of domestic and foreign manufacture are leading providers for the processes of agricultural production. However, this type of tractors has got several design deficiencies. In particular, heavy weight of tractors (above 13.5 ton), a high center of mass and the irrational distribution of operating mass along the axes cause a significant soil compaction along the trail of the ground drive system. Taking into consideration that the soil overconsolidation and the consequent disruption in the superficial moisture-air balance in the soil are among the main reasons for the reduction of yields, we propose a design concept aimed at reducing the consolidating effect in the propulsion trail with the help of a soil-breaking device mounted on the tractor's frame. The article describes the design of a disc soil breaker for a semi-tractor trail with the justification for its design parameters, as well as provides recommendations for choosing disc devices.
