Epithelium of dorsal and lateral lobes of prostate of rats at long adaptation to a cold and on a background of correction

Changes in the epithelium of the dorsal and lateral lobes of the prostate of rats, caused by prolonged adaptation of animals to low temperatures, studied using cytochemical, immunocytochemical and quantitative methods are described. It has been established that, in conditions of adaptation to low temperatures, the epithelium of the dorsal and lateral lobes of the prostate is in a state of functional stress, while the synthetic function of the epithelial cells is inhibited, which is indicated by a decrease in the expression of inducible NO synthase and E-cadherin, a decrease in the content of Schick- a disruption in the ability of epithelial cells to accumulate zinc ions. With prolonged adaptation to low temperatures, the hypertrophy and intensification of the processes of somatic polyploidy are observed in the epithelium of the prostate against the background of correction by the mollusk, morphological signs of functional tension are detected, without disturbing the synthetic activity of the cells.
