The status of potassium in soil, depending on the scheme and duration of fertilizers application in the cultivation of tea in the subtropics of Russia

The features of the formation of the potassium status of brown forest acidic soils (the availability of mobile potassium, the content and the ratio of the various forms of potassium) in the 27-year-old field experiment with application of 16-NPK fertilizers combinations on tea culture in the Black Sea coast of the Russian Federation (c. Sochi) were studied. The factor of its regulation is the combination of applied doses of potassium fertilizers with doses of nitrogen fertilizers, which determine the productivity of plantations and acidification rates of soils, removal with harvest and mobility of potassium in the soil. The long-term dynamics as well as the nutrient balance of potassium are presented depending on the combination and duration of application of NK-fertilizers doses. The relatively constant level of mobile potassium, which is characteristic of this soil (30-40 mg 100 g-1), is maintained for a long time due to the dynamic equilibrium of the forms of potassium in soil, primarily by consumption (accumulation) of exchangeable and non-exchangeable forms, which makes it difficult to diagnose the deficiency (abundance) of the element.
