Ecological assessment of soil CO2 fluxes in conditions of slope mesorelief at the representative for Moscow forest park

Paper with results of seasonal environmental monitoring of soil CO2 fluxes in conditions of slope ecosystems at the representative for Moscow forest park, which is the main part of the Forest Experimental Station of the Russian State Agrarian University - Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. As a result of the conducted research, there has been shown the significant influence of the typical for the Northern part of the Moscow metropolis low-contrast elements of the hollow-hilly mesorelief on the spatial differentiation and seasonal dynamics of soil CO2 fluxes in the conditions of originally dominated there forest background ecosystems of the Forest Experimental Station. This made it possible to identify and quantify the regionally typological limiting ecological factors of seasonal dynamics of soil carbon dioxide emissions in the background forest ecosystems of the Northern part of Moscow. There is the dominant role in the seasonal dynamics of soil CO2 fluxes of the limiting ecological factor of soil temperature (with its localization values of R from 0.79 to 0.92 in the principal forms of mesorelief), with the subordinated role of the topsoil moisture limiting factor (with its localization values of R between -0.22 and -0.76).
