Evaluation of early maturing soybean varieties for protein and oil in grain in the conditions of forest-steppe of the Samara Trans-Volga region

In 2012 – 2017, the research of early maturing varieties and perspective lines of Volga breeding in the nursery of competitive variety testing was conducted in the Volga NIISS. On the basis of six-year data of competitive variety testing the influence of environmental conditions on the content and yield of protein and oil in early-ripening varieties of regional selection was evaluated. It was revealed that the varieties exhibit a specific reaction to abiotic environmental conditions. Modification variability of protein content by years was in the range from 24.96 to 37.03%, by oil content from 19.90 to 27.5%. Moreover, the influence of the medium on the oil content is less significant than on the protein. The coefficients of variation in the varieties were from medium (southerner, C-411) to small in protein, and minor (3.29 – 8.37%) in oil. The most productive variety stood out Yuzhanka and promising line C-411.
