Efficiency of mineral fertilizers in tomato seed production

The article presents the results of research on the influence of the various doses and the methods of application of mineral fertilizers in the process of tomato growing for getting the seeds in the Lower Volga region. The results of the research demonstrated that split application of mineral fertilizers N60P135K60 and two top dressings with N30 on tomato seed crops allowed to receive a maximum fruit yield of 53,2 t/ha, which made it possible to produce 207,5 kg/ha of seeds. The seeds received alongside the studied doses of mineral fertilizers had high germination energy rates – 95-96%. Germination ability of seeds in the laboratory was 95-96%, when growing in a greenhouse – 88-90%. The applied doses of mineral fertilizers did not adversely affect the quality of the tomato fruit.
