Efficiency of inter-row processing in the cultivation of mid-early corn hybrids for grain

The article deals with the results of three-year studies on the influence of inter-row maize treatments on soil density, its biological activity and productivity of maize hybrids of domestic and foreign selection in the conditions of the Azov zone of the Rostov region. It is established that inter-row cultivation of maize contributes to the reduction of soil density in the layers of 0-5 and 5-10 cm to optimal values. Carrying out two inter-row tillage promotes an increase in the biological activity of the soil in comparison with the indicator for one treatment by 2,5 %, and compared with the control - by 4,1 %. On average, for maize hybrids, inter-row processing contributes to an increase in the mass of grain from the cob by 2-4 g. and the mass of 1000 grains by 8-12 g. The yield of maize grain during one inter - row processing increased by 0,16 t/ha, two treatments-by 0,20 t/ha. It Is Most economically advantageous to grow maize during two inter-row treatments with subsequent protection of crops from weeds by Cassius herbicide (0,05 kg/ha).
