Comparative analysis of vegetation indices for agroecological monitoring of winter wheat in Moscow region

Based on the results of agroecological monitoring research in the representative for sod-podzoluvisols area of the RSAU-MTAA Precision Farming Experimental Field the methodological work was carried out with a comparative analysis of the vegetation indices of the winter wheat agroecological state calculated on the remote sensing data (RSD) obtained by quadrocopter. Calculated from the images in the RGB - and NIRGB-spectra (June 9, 2017) 16 vegetation indices are compared with the results of biometric studies (plant height, stem density, projective cover, dry ground biomass and its parts) carried out in 24 elementary monitoring sites June 9 and June 29, 2017. Optimal vegetation indices for predicting plant growth were TGI and VARI, for projective cover – ENDVI. DVI, DVI, TGI, GLI can also be used to simulate stem density.
