Research of humic acids of peat and sapropels of the Ob-Irtysh interfluves. Part 1. Electronic paramagnetic resonance of humic acids of peat and sapropels of the Ob-Irtysh interfluves

The paper presents the results of a study of the paramagnetic activity of humic acids of peat and sapropels of a vertical profile. Samples were taken near the Mukhrino field station located in the Ob-Irtysh interfluve. The article gives the botanical composition of the studied peat. G-factors were determined for the first 8 samples of HA. The g-factors of the studied HA are close to the g-factor of a free electron (2,00230) and range within g = 2.00360±0.00015. The number of paramagnetic centers in the samples was calculated using quantitative spectroscopy of electron paramagnetic resonance. Specific concentration of paramagnetic centers and the conditional “molecular weight” of paramagnetic fragments in HA macromolecules were calculated. It was found that the paramagnetic activity of HA sapropels is lower than that of HA peat.
