The use of cellulose-containing flax production waste for cleaning emissions from chemical industry enterprises

A new linen adsorbent has been developed. Its chemical composition and sorption properties of the new sorbent based on flax fumes and flax bonfires with a particle size of less than 2 mm with respect to various solvents from the gas phase were evaluated. It was found that a decrease in the size of the bonfire particles by a factor of 2 leads to a 2-fold increase in sorption capacity. The sorption properties of the sorbent in relation to organic solvents were studied: ethanol, pentanol-2, acetone, butanol-1, propanol-1. The possibility of repeated use of flax sorbent as an sorbent for cleaning gas emissions of enterprises from organic solvents is shown, which will contribute to improving the environmental situation. After use, the sorbent can be easily disposed of, decomposes in the soil within 6 months.
