Research of humic acids of peat and sapropels of the Ob-Irtysh interfluves. Part 3. The redox potential of the peat profile and underlying lake sediments of the Ob-Irtysh

The paper presents the results of a direct measurement of the redox potential of peat and sapropels of a vertical profile. The measurements were carried out in the field. The well under study is located near the Mukhrino field station in the Ob-Irtysh interfluve. The article gives the botanical composition of the studied peat. Humic acids were isolated from the studied samples. The purpose of this work is to establish relationships between the redox potential of the medium and the physicochemical properties of humic acids. To achieve this goal, humic acids were studied using three physicochemical methods (elemental analysis, electron spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis). It has been established that a clear relationship between the redox potential of the medium and the physicochemical properties of humic acids is observed only in the hypnotic herbal sapropels and sapropels that lie at the base of the well.
