Prospects for the use of a combined winding to reduce electrical losses in the stator

The text under analysis is devoted to the work when reparing an engine with replacing the stator winding, its energy characteristics will be largely determined by the calculation and choice of winding design. The combined 12-zone stator winding has a lower relative content of higher spatial harmonics in the magnetomotive force curve than the same standard 6-zone winding. The use of a combined winding can also lead to a decrease in electric losses in the stator. The work has developed a methodology for assessing changes in electrical losses in the stator during the transition from a standard winding to a combined one. The calculation results are given for engines from the AIR series with single-layer windings. Found that the highest potential expected electric loss in the stator happens when the standard transition does not change the pitch of the coil. The transition from “the brakeup” winding to a combined winding may not always be accompanied by the elrctrical loss decreaseinthe stator however combined winding application becomes more profitable.
