Influence of the planting rate and weight of the planting tuber on the yield and stem forming ability of an average-ripenedpotato variety in the Middle Preduralie

The article presents the yield of medium-ripened potatoes depending on the weight of the planting tuber and the planting rate. The purpose of the research is to correct techniques in the technology of cultivation of medium-ripened varieties of potatoes that provide a yield of 30 t/ha. The experiment was conducted in the conditions of a farm in the zone of the Middle Preduralie. The soil of the experimental site is sod-podzolic, light-loamy with a low content of humus, weakly acidic reaction of the medium, high content of phosphorus and medium potassium. Weather conditions in the years of research were contrasting and had different effects on potato yields. The planned yield was achieved for small planting tubers with a thickening of 47.6 thousand, medium and large 35.7 thousand tubers/ha. To achieve this goal, small tubers formed 137.7 thousand stems, average 146.5 thousand, large 181.1 thousand stems
